The Hills Have Eyes is one of my favourite movies by Wes Craven, the film has the same style of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre with the family and cannibals the only difference is no one uses a Chainsaw. The tone and music of this movie sends a chill down my spine, the acting is good although the constant screaming from the daughter did get on my nerves slightly but the cannibals are good to watch. A great film to watch again and again and deserves to be called a cult classic 10/10. If you like this also check out The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Wes Craven's other best film is of course A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Is this one of director Wes Craven's best or worse? It has genuine cult following credentials and helps make Michael Berryman one of the most recognized faces in the horror genre. A retired detective from Cleveland, Big Bob Carter(Russ Grieve)and his extended family are on vacation and on their way to California, they decide to go off road looking for an inherited silver mine. Of course, their car and trailer breaks down in desert wilderness and are soon the target of a cannibalistic family hell-bent on murder. Berryman plays Pluto, one of the more aggressively violent savages. Other cast standouts: Virginia Vincent, Janus Blythe and a very young Dee Wallace-Stone. Producer Peter Locke is seen in a couple of scenes as one of the raging hill dwellers. Late, late night viewing recommended.
