ANTHONY JOSHUA (UK) vs ANDY RUIZ JR (USA) TKO FIGHT

So guys Joshua vs Ruiz... it was an absolute shocker of a fight. One of the biggest upsets in modern day boxing history. Now it wasn't an upset because Joshua was actually better than Ruiz but it was one because of the hype surrounding Anthony Joshua. This was the illusion that made it the upset. Now, don't get me wrong Anthony Joshua is a good fighter but the hype surrounding him was bigger in my mind than the skills he possessed. Also Andy Ruiz at the time was no slouch but he definitely was not taken seriously at all. Now with Ruiz he is advancing, moving forward, and on the approach, you can see him feinting slightly, moving his head a bit as he postures to throw either hand - not too much but just enough. He keeps his lead foot directly in front of his opponent applying constant pressure to force the action. If you don't hit Ruiz he is going to hit you He keeps his hands high expecting to block something when surprised. But if his opponent opens up he counters with a slip jab to the chest. Sometimes he uses this as his go-to when attacking also. What Ruiz lacks in height and range he makes up for in his explosive ability coming forward. For sure there's a lot he does before but his jab is incredibly explosive and this is due to the propulsion he gets off his raised back heel. What I also like about Ruiz is that he is effective on the inside. He knows he has the advantage on the inside with shorter and faster arms but you can see that he has trained to maintain this as an advantage.
